Dear 14 year old son:
I am aware of the changes you are going through. It's a rough time for all of us. For you, because of the confusion that is puberty, for Little Sister because she the recipent of the brunt of all your frustrations, and for us Grown Ups because we have to be mediators, referees, and sometimes "unfair". Know that over the next few years you will do some things that you will regret. We will say some things that we will regret. There will be fights, battles, and wars over issues like curfew, homework, and privacy. Also know that we WILL search your things when we feel the need, we WILL ground you when you deserve it, but also that we WILL love you forever and always be here for you.

When you leave chocolate out, I WILL have to confiscate

I'm so glad you joined in! We have the exact same living situation with teenagers and little ones in the same house. Are the older children your step-kids or the younger ones? My older 2 are my steps.
I cracked up at your first letter because I have so been there and it is hilarious to me that I parented teenage boys the exact same way I parented my 3 year old. The same words came out of my mouth to everyone in the household.
I don't have a daughter though, so I'm at a loss as to how to parent a 6 year old and 13 year old girls. But I do remember being those ages and my prayers go out to you. Hahaha

I am NOT looking forward to the teenage years and your letters remind me why! Sometimes I feel like my 4 year old is going on 14, but I luckily have about 10 years before we deal with the teeenage attitude full time. Or at least I hope so.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Oh those letters are so funny, and yet not funny when I think about what is going on in your house! LOL Let me just say, I am NOT ready for pre-teens, teens, or grown children! Not even a little! I am quite nervous because every now and then my two year old daughter seems like she is 13... and it gives me chills!!! Ahhhh!!!
You need to search through my letters of intent... I wrote one a short time back about turning signals..... why is driving so difficult????
